Still Team Verygames? |
|
|
|
Just last week we announced that CS:S team Verygames would be leaving the organisation after in-game leader Sebastian 'krL' Perez was removed from the team for gross misconduct
Yet after a press release it has been confirmed the players are still contractually bound and should have fulfilled their obligations as team Verygames (namely the 1v1 "Challenge Verygames" competition that was due to take place on the 2nd of this month) as the team didn't go through the correct resignation procedure. Team Verygames state that any organisation interested in their CS:S team is welcome to speak with them.
As well as this, Verygames have announced that they will continue to help the e-sports scene grow. Stating they will also consider picking up another CS:S team once the current contract problem is sorted.
Press Release From Team Verygames:
A few days ago, we announced the removal of a player of Team VeryGames organisation. According to our fears, the rest of the team does not wish to fulfil their contractual commitments and have publicly announced their departure from the organisation, without informing management or respecting the resignation procedure specified in their contracts. It is an unfortunate situation for players, for the association, and for the main sponsor, VeryGames. Over the past year, money and time has been invested into developing a new website for the team which is now almost complete, and for the "Challenge Team VeryGames" event, which saw a successful 5vs5 evening (300 teams), but the 1vs1 event scheduled for October 2nd (with 400 registered players) had to be cancelled following the departure of players.
The Team VeryGames project is still very far from its initial goals. We have a sense of incompleteness that saddens us. However we will strive to continue our efforts and our investments in this way through new projects, and quite possibly with a new team too.. On the future of the current team, in accordance with the principles of our commitment to the professionalism of esports, we intend to enforce the contracts of players which are still applicable. To take any other course of action would not have a positive impact on esport or other organisations, all players should respect the agreements they have with their team.
We therefore expect these players to resign in the way their contractual obligations require them to, if they wish to leave Team VeryGames. We are obviously not opposed to a players transfer to another organisation that will welcome them; therefore we invite such an organisation to contact us directly.
